This nice steam locomotive #1592 made by Baldwin Locomotive Works is on display near the few remaining ruins of sugar mill "Salvador Rosales" (sugar mill no. 601 of Cuba). This place rarely sees any visitors except locals.
MINAZ no. 1592, standard gauge 4'8½" (1435 mm), wheels 2-8-0, build date 1921, so nearly 100 years old, construction no. 53992

This is the last remaining steam locomotive at the ruins of sugar mill no. 640 of Cuba, "Frank País", which closed in 2002. The loco has the number 1256 and was built in 1923 by Baldwin Locomotive Works in Philadelphia. Wheels 2-8-0, gauge 36", construction no. 57207. The remains of sugar mill no. 635 of Cuba, "Rafael Freyre", former prerevolutionary name "Santa Lucia". The 3rd PiP shows the situation in 2005 (scanned slide). The two poor steam locomotives on this image are most probably #1389 (constr. no. 37716) and #1390 (constr. no. 38101), wheels 2-8-0, both built by Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1912. The mill closed in 2002.

The remains of sugar mill "Rafael Freyre" (no. 635 of Cuba). There was an extensive 30" railway system around. Some lines are still operating, for locals and the oldest steam locomotive (from 1882) sometimes also for tourists. I could still find 6 steamers there. Former sugar mill 635, "Rafael Freyre": The steam locomotive #1386 (original no. 4, construction no. 52630) was built by Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1919. Wheels 2-8-0, narrow gauge 30". Here are links to 1386 in operation:
