Super shot! It looks kind of easy to slip on the sandy surface and fall over the side. Or, is the soil more solid than it appears?

I first made this hike on a family trip in 1959 (I was all of 6). It seemed a _lot_ farther then! But Zion didn't have _nearly_ the crowds in those days ;)

We'd drive up from Las Vegas (where we lived) for a weekend, and you could count on finding a campsite on the valley floor! No reservations necessary ;)
