Welcome to Hershey main station
The Hershey railway is the only electric railway in Cuba. You can find more informations here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hershey_Electric_Railway
Unfortunately hurrican Irma destroyed most of the line and only a small part is still in operation. But luckily the railway workshop in Hershey is still working and we were able to visit it. When the Hershey line was constructed circa 1916, largely to support the Hershey sugar mill, the main railway operator in Havana province, United Railways, refused to allow the Hershey train access to its tracks so a new terminus was built at Casablanca, which is across the harbour from Habana Vieja, connected by a ferry service.
