Hey folks, I'll tell you, and I don't know if there's a law of the universe that I mustn't tell it to you but I'll tell you, folks, listen to me, pay attention, here's the truth and nothing but the (well, let's skip this confirmatory swear word) truth: There ain't no such thing as a blue water. It's always the sky!!
Believe it!
Water is transparent.
And light scattering is inversely proportional to the fourth power if the light waves wavelength. This means, scattering of blue light is higher than that of red light. Red light passes the atmosphere, blue light comes down to earth. That's why heaven seems to be blue and not black.
And a flat surface of water does reflect the blue sky.
