Sail and Bike Croatia / Jelsa

Sail and Bike Croatia / Jelsa
Walk in the alleys of Jelsa
The town of Jelsa lies on the north side of the island of Hvar. It is surrounded by the two largest peaks of the island, Nikola and Hum. Depending on the weather you can see the neighbouring island Brač and the mainland.
The area where Jelsa lies today was inhabited during the Stone Age.

Laura Perinelli, Erhard Bernstein, Ernest CH, Kawasirius and 9 other people have particularly liked this photo

I love investigating side-streets - they're usually quite interesting. The difference in colour between the brickwork on the opposite sides of the street caught my eye in this shot. Fascinating!

It does look a fascinating area. To think that it was inhabited since the Stone Age is mind blowing. I do love the construction of these buildings, the stonework is fantastic.
