Rasiglia ist ein Bergweiler in der Gemeinde Foligno (PG), im Bezirks „Valle del Menotre“. Der Ort liegt auf 648 m Meereshöhe , etwa 19 km von Foligno entfernt.
Rasiglia ist auch als "Borgo dei ruscelli" oder "Venedig Umbriens" bekannt, aufgrund der Wasserstraßen, die das kleine Zentrum des Weilers durchqueren.
Dank ihnen hatte sich im Mittelalter eine florierende Textilindustrie entwickelt.
Der kleine Ort hat das typische Aussehen eines mittelalterlichen umbrischen Dorfes.
Die ersten Berichte stammen aus dem Anfang des 13. Jahrhundert, in den sogenannten "Sassovivo-Papieren", d.h. in Papier aus dem Archiv der Abtei von Sassovivo . Hier wird zum ersten Mal die 'Curtis de Rasilia' erwähnt , welche anscheinend die Kirche S. Pietro als Kultstätte hatte.
In der ersten Hälfte des 17. Jahrhunderts , als seine militärische Bedeutung nachließ, etablierte sich Rasiglia dank der Wasserkraft des Flusses Menotre für handwerkliche Aktivitäten (Mühlen, Fabriken ) .
Von 1945 bis etwa 1980 genoss Rasiglia die größte wirtschaftliche Entwicklung. In den letzten Jahrzehnten zogen jedoch mit der Schließung der Industrietätigkeiten die meisten Einwohner nach Foligno. Nach dem Erdbeben von 1997 lebte die Bevölkerung zunächst in den Containern, heute ist der Ort wieder restauriert.
