L’Abbaye de Lucedio fut fondée en 1123 par les Moines Cisterciens sur les terres que le marquis Ranieri di Monferrato leur avait offert. Après avoir bonifié les terrains il furent les premiers, au XV° siècle, à introduire la cultivation du riz en Italie. Probablement ce lieu a été abandonné depuis de nombreuses années.
