Aka Postcard Row - another iconic San Francisco Image. (suffering here a little bit with using high contrast film and no ND grad to hand).

Finding domething beautiful in a prison wasn't what I was expecting, but the afternoon light on these Alcatraz cells caught my eye. (not quite enough DoF - from the days when ISO wasn't adjustable!)

Somewhere in Haight Ashbury. San Francisco.

Definitely worth a visit to be transported back a few decades.

This is a photo of some detail from the Evolutionary Rainbow Mural on Haight Street. A wonderful bit of street art. This image is from the original work which has recently been recreated by the artist after some necessary building works meant destruction of its wall.

I liked this view of the sweep of this water feature and the skyscraper skyline, including SFMOMA and the Pacific Telephone Building.

The post-modernist foreground building is the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA), designed by Mario Botta and built in 1995 The building behind is part of the Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Building. This art moderne building was built in 1925.

The Transamerica Pyramid and Columbus Tower - iconic San Francisco architecture. The tower was built between 1905-1907 and is one of the few surviving pre-earthquake buildings in the city center. It is owned by Francis Ford Coppola. The pyramid, designed by William Pereira, is 260m high and was built in 1972. It has not always been well loved by the citizens of San Francisco.
