2039 Atolmis rubricollis (Red-necked Footman)
A local species in Cornwall, which is considered Nationally Scarce as well. Unlike most of the Footmen you are likely to come across, this is almost an "All Black" species with the only colour the small ruff of red (or in older specimens orange) fur behind the head. The abdomen is the same colour as the ruff, but at rest is normally hidden by the wings.
