These sculptures, and especially this one, remind me of the sculptor Hilda Morris. One example of her work is here: www.ogallerie.com/auction-lot/hilda-morris-bronze-sculpture_A938C20E76 Hilda lived in my town, Portland, Oregon. I met her a few times. My sister has helped out with her and her husband's art estate. I've been lucky to have been around the sculptures - but they have always been outside my price range.

Both your mother and Hilda seem tohave been inspired by the natural shapes around us, and used similar materials to express their art.
