The Sunday Challenge. Panning. Edmonton Transit bus and red car.

The Sunday Challenge - Tree I have always needed a reason to photograph this tree at night so I thought I would finally get around to it for TSC. This tree stands on the grounds of an industrial business park. There is always an amber spotlight on it even though the light is designed to be used for security. I took several normal shots and then I decided to try a couple of the art filters built into my camera. This is the Dramatic Tone setting. I like how it pulled the light off the clouds into the frame. Apps Within Your Camera group: An art filter called Dramatic Tone

TSC: March 8, HDR. I used my in-camera HDR feature, Lightroomed it and came out with this.

For Not the Sunday Challenge. I forgot that I took this photo of the tree from last week on an HDR setting. This one has about 5 exposures merged (this time using Paintshop Pro). For those who did not see the HDR in this week's cedar, I hope this one satiates your appetite for HDR. Remember, this was a night shot with the tree picking up light from an adjacent floodlight. The sky is illumined from the city lights and a big clear moon. The clouds emerge from the over-exposures in the set. 14mm (28 35mm equivalent) lens with fisheye attachment. Olympus M-1.

TSC - Have fun with white balance. Coloring is fun and I generally like to stay inside the lines. I used a brush on Lightroom and programmed it to the coldest WB temperature I could find. I had some fun with these buildings.

The Sunday Challenge - Steaming hot drink.

I am trying to get my condo apartment ready for sale. After many tries at finding a replacement piece for a 2' x 4' acrylic light cover, I finally found one. I ordered it, it came in about a week and fit perfectly for the previously broken one. While installing it I knocked the companion piece off and it fell to the floor and cracked and broke. I was ready to cry when this happened but I was swearing too much. At least I finally had something for this week's TSC. I now know where I can go to get another replacement. Sigh. TSC - Broken
