Alberta is dry and anything will start a fire. We passed by a familiar intersection in the country two weeks ago. At the time the field was on fire and we could see large orange flames. Fortunately the fire did not cross the highway. This truck was driving away from the fire as it was still burning.
Currently the city of Fort McMurray in Northern Alberta is fighting for its life as over 1600 homes have been destroyed by a forest fire. It is the largest evacuation in Alberta history, 90,000 people.
