Inveraray Castle

Inveraray Castle
Inverary Castle, built c1789, is the ancestral home of the Duke of Argyll. chief of the Clan Campbell. It is one of the earliest examples of Gothic Revival architecture and is situated on the shores of Loch Fyne. It featured as 'Duneagle Castle' in the Christmas 2012 episode of Downton Abbey

A well seen viewpoint and excellent framing. Lovely Autumn colours coming through and love the moody sky. A clever musical match :-) A quality performance for sure.

Thank you for your lovely kind comments Mario. Really appreciated. It is a lovely castle and the grounds are beautiful. We have been there several times but it is the first time we have walked up to the castle and I am pleased we did.

Thank you very much George. I didn't know that. Quite a project moving Inveraray I would imagine. I would think there were people who were quite unhappy about it at the time. It seems that there was a fire in the castle in 1975 and the 12th Duke and his family lived in the basement whilst funding was raised and renovation work carried out. I am pleased you enjoyed the music. Have a great evening
