Notation: This cigar store was in the Royal Alexandra Hotel. The proprietor was W. J. Clubb. He was part of the family that operated a very successful tobacco business in Toronto - A. Clubb & Sons. He ran this very successful cigar store in Winnipeg and later added one in Victoria's Empress Hotel. Eventually, he also moved to Victoria.

W. J Clubb also published many Winnipeg postcards and his cigar stand was likely a perfect retail outlet in its day.
