bei der Unterhaltung vor der Kirche mit dem Küster bekam ich
von ihm den Tipp bzw. Hinweis wo die Wendeltreppe zum Turm ist.
Hätte ich allein nie gefunden ; )

you are right. When studying the picture one can see
that the rafters carrying the main force of the roof
are all supported at the outer wall of the church. That means
no (additional) load onto the vault - a quite clever design!
