Nordfassade

Nordfassade
The windows in the Eiger northface.

Karen, yes, there is an extra stop with the rack railway and you have the opportunity to look out the window. Sometimes you can even see climbers in the wall!
The blue dotted line is the course of the track of the railway inside the mountain.
watch the movie here and you'll see it between 0:50 and 0:60

Wow, that video was incredible (and so nicely filmed.) Now it's on my "Bucket List." What an impossibly gorgeous place (and they have Lindt chocolates) :D It must have been thrilling to be there. Thanks so much for sharing, polytropos. :)

Karen, yes, it is a spectacular place! And because all tourists in the world know this by now, it is a much frequented place. Every year the Jungfraujoch is visited by over a million tourists! So you have to plan your visit very well. Best in the early morning or in the late afternoon, when the mass tourists from Asia are already back in the hotel.

► Here the interactive web cam of the Jungfraujoch, the "Top of Europe" :)
