The Queen's Stairs

The Queen's Stairs are in the baroque part (built by Sir Christopher Wren) of Hampton Court Palace. The elaborate ironwork of the balustrade, here shadowed on the marble steps, was made by Huguenot ironsmith Jean Tijou in the late 17th century.

Man wundert sich, dass ein Flughafen wie Heathrow das mit dem Nebel nicht in den Griff bekommt ( low visibility procedures...) - wir sassen fast 2 Stunden in Stuttgart im Flieger rum, bevor wir starten durften! Und dafür bin ich um 3.45 Uhr aufgestanden;-)
