Thanks a lot, Keith! Yes, that excuse is ingenious! I guess many locals get delayed there, tourists are often shocked at the prices ( very high tax on alcohol...).

I remember the high booze prices on a visit to Tromso many years ago while I was in the Royal Navy.. Our sailors and marines were always getting caught taking their own alcohol into the clubs and bars.

Haha, I can feel with them;-) The only booze reasonably cheap is the weak stuff with hardly any alcohol. But still there are always queues in front of the Vinmonopolet;-)

Thanks a lot, Peter! In Tromsø there's only the pub trhough there is talk about extending Nordlandsbanen;-)
The northernmost Norwegian passenger railway station is Narvik, reached via Sweden (Kiruna) and then Bodø, terminal of Nordlandsbanen from Trondheim.
There might be some defunct industrial railway tracks at Kirkenes...

Schönen Dank, Edna! Es soll innen sehr gemütlich sein, teilweise möbliert mit alten Zugsitzen. Eine Bekannte geht da jedesmal hin, wenn das Schiff südgehend um Mitternacht in Tromsø anlegt;-)

Das hört sich gut an. So eine ähnliche kneipe gab's mal in KA. Nannte sich "Linie 8" und war ein alter strassenbahnwagon gegenüber vom strassenbahndepot. Leider auch schon geschichte.

Straßenbahnwagen klingt auch gut:-)

ist auch viel nützlicher als ein Bahnhof ;-)

Als mein Bruder vor vielen Jahren als Student Norwegen besuchte, haben sie erst ein paar Kasten Bier mit Schnappverschluss geleert, dann Schnaps eingefüllt und als Reiseproviant eingeführt.....

Ja, das Vorgehen ist noch immer beliebt und man macht den locals eine Freude, wenn man ein Fläschchen rüberreicht;-)
