The natural light has brought out all the beautiful lines and textures - an awesome natural abstract image.

Good to see the context in the PiP as well. It's unbelievably huge, especially when you consider around two thirds of it is under water..!!

Is is just me - or can anyone else see the giant face in the PiP?

Thank you so much, Keith! Oh yes, it's a giant grumpy face;-) There were some huge bergs because they get stuck on an underwater moraine. Only when they melt or break up they start to float again.

Thanks very much, Rosa! Depending on the light and angle you could see lots of faces and shapes in all the icebergs:-)

An unusual pattern. Is that caused by wind, wave or melting?
Gudrun club has replied to Esther club
Thanks a lot, Esther! I'm afraid I have no idea, maybe a combination of all the above?

Hi Gudrun

Great composition here, and beautiful patterns in the ice.
I do agree with Rosa, there is a big face in the PiP!

Great images, Gudrun. Bergs are so interesting to try to piece together their history from the shapes and contours. This seems to show tracks of water runoff.

Thanks very much, George! The variety of shapes and patterns was astonishing, In some you could see where they were going to crack up, this one was still pretty solid.

I love that PiP with the face of a Neanderthal. What causes all these striations on the surface of the icebergs?
Gudrun club has replied to Amelia club
Thanks a lot, Amelia! Actually I don't know, could be meltwater runoff, wind...Not all bergs had this, some were smooth, others had multiple cracks and bumps.
