Thanks a lot, Amelia! Basically they just wanted something that could serve as an attraction in a place that's a bit off the map;-) Sundial in summer, a backdrop to Northern Lights in the winter.

Thank you, Keith! Materializing out of the mist is exactly what happened that day, it wasn't visible from the village! I doubt it will be finished any time soon, the guy who started to build it used to run the hotel but has given up last year, the (only) hotel has new owners now.
