Djúpalónsperlur

Djúpalónsperlur
The pebbles at Djúpalónssandur are called Djúpalóns pearls, they are used for making jewelry. The outer layer is of volcanic glass whereas the inner part is fully crystallized (Benmoreite). That much I gathered from volcanologist Haraldur Sigurðsson's blog (it's in Icelandic and online translators make rather a hash of the language...)

... a Yellow Star for sure ... mesmerizing (!!); make a poster and hang it on the wall; a screen-saver ...
... I saw it "full-screen" previously, and so now I certainly agree with autofantasia: "terrific on black!" ...

Thanks very much! It's the rain that makes them look good, dry they don't shine. Still, I'd like to see this place in sunshine one day;-)
