I do very much love spiders. I used to like petting tarantulas until I learned that it's not good to do that as the hairs come off easily and not good for the spider (that's what I remember anyway)... I have to say though, that holding huge spiders is very nerve-wracking for me and since they would rather you not do that, I won't hold them any longer. On the FACE? NOPE. NOPE. NOPE! :D I wouldn't have a problem if I was asked to do that but I'd have to steady my nerves, lol.

their hairs are stichy you're right...
no harm for them, but for you as it is a way to defend themselves...
they don't mind being handled as long as you respect them and are very slow not to frighten them...
