River Avon
There are several rivers called 'Avon'. The name derives from an old Welsh word 'abona'. 'Abona' means 'river', It probably didn't matter that there were several rivers called by the same name because people tended to stay in the same area in the old days.
This particular river Avon is the Bristol Avon above Chippenham, Wiltshire.
The photograph was taken with a Nikon D2Xs and a manual focus Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 AI lens made sometime between January, 1978 and October, 1982.
