The dark greens of the leaves become sharp silhouettes according to the angle of the screen. The countryside recedes softly. Houseman and Thomas must be hiding in the bushes.
It's that black limb that runs through left frame that makes this image work, I think.

I take my hat off to anybody who views photographs from all screen angles before making perceptive and kind remarks. How distant seems the sun on our backs and the warm air in our throats whilst we hunker down in these Brumal months.

I don't tend to look at screen images from every vantage point, (though I should perhaps try to creep up on on to see what it looks like when no one is looking) but I have noticed what a difference it can make.

"Brumal months" is a chilling phrase: the cold wind of the guillotine on the back of neck.
