I never find time to make Halloween costumes, so this will have to do. Shown smaller than the original completed size of 2525 X 4482 pixels.

When the stores are all out of Halloween candy, so you have to give out hunks of raw meat instead. You also must accept the fact that the neighbors will give you weird looks every day for the next year when you pass on the street. At a weekend barbecue last Fall, a small kitten wandered out of the woods at our friends' place, looking for a home. We took care of him, briefly, but it was too late to save his life. It's been in my mind since then to do a small piece in his honor. Original size: 1000 X 1000 pixels. One source is here .

I used the "Craquelure" filter to create the rough texture. At least, it's rough from a distance. If you zoom in, it looks a bit like tiger stripes though. A funny coincidence. (And also, if you see distortions when you zoom in close on my images, I'm sorry. It might be an ipernity bug but I've been too busy to investigate that.) Aaand, just as I wrap up work on this, I hear that forest fire season is already beginning here in the U.S. West. Sadly, it's not legal to punch billionaires and politicians in the face, nor are we allowed to send them out to fight the fires. Anyway, that statue is a Greek Peplos Kore from around 530 B.C. From a 1973 tour guide to the Acropolis. Shown smaller than the original completed size of 5000 X 5000 pixels.

The area at the bottom was once a string of pearls in an old photo of a Hollywood starlet. Then I saw the mushrooms "grow" from the many filters I layered on (along with the bouquet) and used a dry brush and pencil to "carve them out." :D Shown smaller than the original completed size of 3540 X 2625 pixels.
