Burwell - Buttercross Hall
Burwell Priory, which once stood here, was a Benedictine monastery founded sometime before 1110 and belonged to the Abbey of Grande-Sauve in Aquitaine as a foreign priory.
Burwell developed into a market town in the Middle Ages and still has this small building with the butter cross, a market hall.
