Arfeld - Protestant Church
Arfeld, now a part of Bad Berleburg, was first mentioned under the name of "Arahfelt" in a charter of the Lorsch Abbey in 800. In 1258 a deanery existed in Arfeld, the (now) protestant late Romanesque hall church was erected during this time.
The choir was renewed in 1719. The tower of the second half of the 13th century was renewed after fires in 1616 and 1733. The towers helmet was done and added in middle of the 18th century.
