Taulignan - Temple protestant

Taulignan - Temple protestant
The centre of Taulignan (pop. 1600) is still surrounded by a medieval fortification. A protestant church existed in Taulignan since 1601. It was destroyed in 1684, just before the revocation of the Edict of Nantes. The protestant church seen here was erected outside the ramparts in 1868.

I learned, that there more protestant churches were erected on this kind of design in the 19th century: Les-Vans (Ardèche) 1825, Lézinier (Lozère) 1837.
