Montmorillon - Notre-Dame

Late summer afternoon in Montmorillon. Crossing the Gartempe via the medieval bridge. On a cliff on the other side of the river is the church Notre Dame, dating back to the 12th century. Near to the place, where the church is now, the Saracens once had a fortification, what explains the name of the small town "Mons Maurillio".
