Sangüesa - Santiago el Mayor

Sangüesa - Santiago el Mayor
"Santiago el Mayor" is known since 1144, but it took two more than centuries to complete the structure. This was a parish church, that of course cared as well for the many pilgrims (note the tympanum!). Just like the nearby convent, that may have be founded by Francis of Assisi, on his way back from Santiago de Compostella.
