In Malaysia , I took the train from Kuala Lumpur up the peninsula to Georgetown, stopping for a day or so at various places along the way. This was one of my stops.

Spring in Alaska
|

It's spring here, it has warmed up enough to dump all the snow off my roof that has accumulated there since October.
Also it's warm enough now to build a snowman! Most of the winter here the snow is far to cold to pack, to stick together.

EDM 162, breakfast

So.... I've had two Japanese visiting for the last month or so. I've gotten used to hearing, around two or three in the morning; "Jimu-san, Jimu-san, wake up and come see the beautiful aurora!" Shucky darn, I've lived here in Alaska for over 40 years, I've SEEN the aurora, but sigh, a good host is a good host and I'd dutifully get up, throw on a parka, and go out at twenty below zero with my guests.
-but I digress. With Japanese visitors this is often breakfast, -or as they'd say; 'asagohan'. Nothing like rice, a runny egg and a little seaweed to start the day off right! Hey, it's actually pretty tasty, don't knock it 'till you've tried it.
Watercolor and watercolor pencil.
