Hey, once I climbed a mountain with that alpenstock. OK, not a very grand mountain bit quite high enough to embarrass any protuberance on the east coast of the US that claimed to be a mountain. :-)

Sigh sigh sigh, I know you Dutch are inventive enough to find uses for alpenstocks, Marri. Fore example tie two of them together and they'd make a nice anchor for a small boat. Maybe would not work well in a stormy North Sea but quite suitable for a quiet canal. -grin-
