Ghost plant DSC 9773

Ghost plant DSC 9773
These are the flowers of the ghost plant, sometimes called ghost pipes or Indian pipes (Monotropa uniflora). It is a parasitic flower that feeds on underground fungi, and so has no need for chlorophyll or sunlight, hence the almost pure white stems and flowers. It grows in dark woods

Hi Stephan, Thanks. They are rather unusual; a lot of people mistake them for fungi rather than true plants.
