A Penny-Farthing or Ordinary bicycle, popular in the 1870s & 1880s, named after coins which disappeared with decimalisation of British currency in 1971.

I think it would be educational if a little display [or scaled image] was provided to show these particular coins, I'm old enough to know what they looked like !

The farthing had ceased to be legal tender in the UK by 1961 [although some overseas territories - like the Falkland Islands -retained it until 1970]
The "big" Penny disappeared with decimalisation in 1971 ...
