gdn - lost rhodi
Just one lonely flower, but completely out of season.
This was taken in October, most Rhododendrons flower around May and June (depending on the area of the UK).
The naturalised "wild" variety can be something of an invasive weed, as it readily sets fertile seed and once established can be very difficult to control or eradicate.
There are a couple of small bushes in the garden, but they are regularly pruned - the young foliage and flowers are the most attractive - taking care to avoid nesting birds.
