I think I can, I think I can
Sorting books out from a box in the attic today I came across this classic kid's book. I bought it in 1984 in Dallas for $4.99 to read to my oldest daughter & it was enjoyed by her and her younger sister a few years later.
Wiki tells me : "The Little Engine That Could" is an American folktale existing in the form of several illustrated children's books and films. The story originated and evolved in the early 20th century, but became widely known in the United States after publication in 1930 by Platt & Munk. The story is used to teach children the value of optimism and hard work".
I just thought it was a nice railway story & didn't fully realise I was teaching my kids to work hard...
