How well does the iphone work when taking photos of trains moving at track speed which are say a third of the screen or more? I need to replace my current phone and am likely to go Apple.

A good question Graham. It depends on the line speed!! I use the iPhone all the time on the footplate and around the shed because it it is so convenient and doesn't interfere with the work but to take shots of moving trains at speed from the lineside I always still use my digital SLR. Having said that the iPhone does a pretty good job and the latest models are even better than my Apple iPhone 12 mini. Not cheap though.

I'm considering Iphone 11 or SE III (lowest cost new ones here). I not interested in any phone with a hot line to gooogle. The current one is a Microsoft 640 LTE I bought in early 2016. It enables many more photos in the cab or indeed anywhere round the DownsSteam site than the ancient 4 thirds DSLR.
