Abbey Wood London April 1975
Abbey Wood station Up platform looking west from the footbridge. The 1849 South Eastern & Chatham Railway buildings look a bit grubby. Commuters to London city centre observe the two trackmen at work.

Today the station has changed completey out of recognition as Abbey Wood is the eastern terminus of the new Crossrail / Elizabeth line.

Thanks for uploading this evocative shot of the sort of south London scene, I am familiar with from my working years a bit further west, in Southwark. There are now high-rise flats just to the north of the station and a very large Sainsbury's, handy for a hungry traveller!
