QJ 6911 with eastbound passenger train as it arrives at the summit of the climb towards Chaganhada on the Jitong Railway. This was the beginning of my last day watching steam on the Jitong Railway. This was the last regular steam-hauled long distance passenger service in the world.

The last regular steam-hauled passenger train in Australia was hauled by a 4-6-0 loco first introduced in 1892. The cars were former Sydney pre-electrofication suburban ones. The train ran daily the 50 miles between Singleton and Newcastle for commuters.
I haven't scanned slides of the train but this is the loco at Broadmeadow depot between runs.
