Eggborough at work
British Energy's only coal fired power station was the 1960 megawatt plant at Eggborough. From 2009 the business was bought by EDF and on 1 April 2010 EDF transferred Eggborough to the plant's bondholders. his was followed by it being acquired by Czech Republic-based Energetický a průmyslový holding in January 2015. Generation was with four 500 megawatt units, the first of which started working in 1967. The station closed in September 2018.
