Hesketh shaft
When I first visited Chatterley Whitfield in 1975 the Hesketh shaft was no longer being used to wind coal although the steam winding engine was still being used to raise men. Since the closure of the museum here in the 1990s the decay has been extensive and the structures are now in poor condition.
