Kalkwerk Horst
This limestone quarry In the upper Hönnetal was established in 1929 with three flare kilns producing burnt lime. These were superceded by these two shaft kilns in 1962 which worked continuously until 1995. When running they were fed with 4500kg of limestone and 370 kg of coke every 18 minutes. Today the quarry is still in production for limestone under the managment of the Cemex group.
