Castle
Another complete mystery. This was found on a terrace demolition site at Fegg Hayes, close to the Chatterley Whitfield Colliery. The houses dated from the 1860s or thereabouts and I would not have expected the bricks to have been carried any great distance. There were examples from a number of local brickworks on the site, but this one is an unknown manufacturer. Capitol 203 reckons that this does not have the same feel or texture as the local products, so it may well be a stranger in the camp.
