Stanton
Stanton ironworks was closed in May 2008 by the French company Saint-Gobain which has systematically torn the heart out of the Derbyshire iron industry. The works was producing spun pipes and the hot metal was moved from the melting shop by rail on a system that was entirely disconnected from the national rail network. This is the junction of the internal line by the main road that bisected the works.
