Biligou Viaduct

Biligou Viaduct
The Biligou viaduct is less often photographed than the nearby structure at Simingyi. It was still well worth making the effort to climb into the hills as the sun began to set in order to catch this eastbound train climbing the pass. The notorious Jinpeng wind is evident, although not as strong as it could be, but still very cold.

A little detail, best seen on the large view, is the crew member stood in the tender of the train engine and shovelling coal forward. This was taking place even though these locomotives are fitted with steam operated coal pushers.
