Avondklok – Blijf binnen. Van 21.00 uur ‘s avonds tot 4.30 uur ‘s morgens is het verboden om buiten te zijn.Alleen samen krijgen we corona onder controle.

De avondklok is een heftige maatregel, die het lam gelegde openbare leven nog verder plat legt. De rode verkeerslichten zijn dan ook symbolisch, net als de wegwijzer achter het bord dat nergens naar toe wijst aangezien er nog zeer weinig versoepelingen in aantocht zijn.

Saturday Self Challenge: Covid

Curfew - Stay indoors. From 9 p.m. to 4.30 a.m., it is forbidden to be outside.(L)on(e)ly together we will get covid under control.

The curfew (‘evening clock’) is a tough measure, which further cripples the already lockdowned public life. The red traffic lights are therefore symbolic, as is the signpost behind the electronic billboard pointing to nowhere, since there are still very few relaxations in sight.

Note: the translation of the words ‘alleen samen’ in the slogan is difficult. It means ‘only together’ but ‘alleen’ means also ‘lonely’ and ‘alone’.
