Fallen Giant

Fallen Giant
It all comes back to the perennial question:
"If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?"

This photo was taken by an Asahi Pentax 6 X 7 medium format film camera and SMC PENTAX 67 1:4 45mm lens with an 82mm R-72 filter using Rollei Retro 400S film, the negative scanned by an Epson Perfection V600 and digitally rendered with Photoshop.

Paolo Tanino, Annemarie, William Sutherland and 2 other people have particularly liked this photo

Looks like Ozymandias fell here. Superb black and white; conveys its monumental quality.

This giant sequoia began its life during the time of the Pharaohs and fell during a storm over 150 years ago. Shelley's poem applies well to this arboreal Goliath being slowly consumed by time and the elements.

Although fallen, this tree still emits a life force.
