All crew prepare masts and sails for departure.
The A.R.C. GLORIA, flagship of the Colombian navy, gives a hearty salute to their host, San Francisco, as it sails southward on a goodwill tour.

This photo was taken by a Kowa/SIX medium format film camera and KOWA 1:3.5/55 lens using Kodak T-MAX 400 film, the negative scanned by an Epson Perfection V600 and digitally rendered with Photoshop.

Good framing and a lovely light for this very intriguing nautical scene. Not an everyday sight to see the hands up there! The W&B is impeccable. When I was young I used to develop and print my W&B photos... sold everything... I regret it! I'm still looking for a cheap (but good) scanner to scan my old films... I had an Epson Perfection 1640 SU, far from being decent...

Following a several years' infatuation with digital cameras I began scanning my archives, starting a "Restoration Project" to bring many of my faded and damaged negatives and slides back to life and posting them on Flickr. There were a series of scanners leading to the Epson Perfection V600 which I presently use and a renewal in my use (and acquisition of) film cameras. Now my digital images begin with film and end up as digital files through the scanner and post processing digital tools. It is a laborious but fulfilling process.
