San Agustín Forest Spirit
An early culture that existed near San Agustín, Colombia carved many idols and statues, some which were on display in a beautiful forest glade.

This image from Kodak slide was shot from a Yashica ELECTRO 35CC, scanned by an HP Scanjet G4050 and digitally rendered with Photoshop.

Many of the sites were plundered and looted of their gold and silver artifacts. I guess this has happened in all countries around the world spanning human existence. When I was in San Agustín there were several teams of professional archaeologists excavating in this protected area which was visited by both Colombian and foreign visitors. The site was accessible by a 8+km-long hike or horse ride.
