USA - Utah, Arches National Park
Arches National Park has more than 2.000 natural stone arches. Nowhere else in the world are so many natural rock arches found, as within the boundaries of the park. In addition to the arches the park also offers many other amazingly shaped rock formations, like soaring pinnacles, massive fins and giant balanced rocks. The arches and rock formations have created a red-rock wonderland.
Main picture: Landscape Arch, the longest arch is with a span of 88 meters.
PiP1: Wall Arch, collapsed August 4 2008, just weeks after I took this image.
PiP2: Double Arch, two arches with a common end.
PiP3: Balanced Rock, total height of 39 meters
PiP4: Park Avenue
PiP5: Courthouse Towers

I was particularly amazed to find out the span of the arch in the main image..........it's really difficult to tell without something you know the size of in the shot. It's difficult to pick a favouritie as they're all superb, but for sheer surprise value, it has to be this main image..!!
Fabulous Images of Nature , Jaap!
Thanks also for the interesting information
YAYYYY!!!! *high five*
Oh Jaap!!!! These pictures are THROUGH THE ROOF! Oh my...they are just wonderful, each and every one. You got the character of Arches just perfectly. And the information you shared was fantastic and also tragic because I didn't know that any of the features had fallen. I'm so glad you got a picture before it fell. Of course this is the way things go, some day they will all be dust.
I also loved learning that there are SO MANY! To be honest, when I visited, I was with a tour group that went to most of the best national parks in the western US, but I didn't read about them beforehand. The incredible surprises staggered me, and both Bryce and Arches stood out as the overall winners for being most unique and mind-blowing to my young mind. I didn't read much about these places since, and so I had no idea there were over 2k arches to see!! It is incredible!
Sometime in the next year, Steve and I will be doing some traveling around the U.S. and I can hardly wait to share both of these incredible places with him, and finally to have a camera to take pictures myself! :)
Thank you so much for the glorious show. My day is complete. :)
A fantastic landscape. Enjoy the weekend, Jaap!
Have a nice weekend :-)
Regards TOZ.

Best Wishes, and a good weekend.
Peter
